At Glockner CDJR of Portsmouth, we’re proud of our association with the much-celebrated RAM 1500. Among the most highly sought-after pickups in North America, the RAM 1500 has blazed a trail that few pickups have been able to keep up with. The 2025 model is a continuation of the RAM 1500’s North American dominance. With incredible power, phenomenal performance, and spectacular handling and control, Glockner CDJR of Portsmouthcustomers will love the many features and trims of the 2025 RAM 1500.
The 2025 model year is defined by a new Tungsten trim, multiple interior improvements, and slight changes to the RAM 1500’s exterior design. The result for Glockner of Portsmouth customers is a great-looking, reliable, and durable pickup with staggering power and performance. Here’s a look at the new trims of the 2025 RAM 1500.
The RAM 1500 Tradesman® is the base model for 2025. This quad cab (four-door) 4x2 (2WD) base model comes with either a 5-foot 7-inch or 6-foot 4-inch bed. Replacing the previous year’s Hemi V8 engine are a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar® VVT eTorque engine or the 3-liter V6 Hurricane. Either engine is paired with an easy-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of performance, the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar® produces 305 horsepower, and 269 pound-feet of torque, allowing for a 2,300-pound payload while powering the RAM 1500 Tradesman to tow up to 8,100 pounds. The 3-liter V6 Hurricane increases both the horsepower and torque to 420 and 469 respectively, while seeing a slight decrease in payload to 1900 pounds. However, that additional power increases the towing by 3,460 pounds to an astonishing 11,560 pounds overall.
The Tradesman® is the base model, including all the exterior 2025 upgrades. These include a newly designed and chiseled front grille and fascia alongside new LED headlights and optional LED animating and lighting. The base model also comes with a standard 3.5-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch digital touchscreen with a selection of 18 to 20-inch aluminum-chrome and black-powered tires, a tri-fold tonneau cover, a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet, and improved trailer-towing technology package.
The 2WD 2025 RAM 1500 Big Horn uses the same powertrain and choice of bed sizes. However, the Lone Star includes an optional sports appearance package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with embedded audio controls, different interior fabric options, and the option of upgrading the 3.5-inch digital instrument panel to a 7-inch display. Glockner CDJR of Portsmouth will also have the option of upgrading the digital Uconnect® 5 infotainment system with a much larger 12-inch touchscreen.
With the 2WD RAM 1500 Laramie, we are introduced to the first crew cab. The RAM 1500 Laramie’s two-row seating and four doors include a 5-foot 7-inch bed and the same optional powertrains as either the Tradesman® or Lone Star. With the same optional interior features and the same great high-strength steel body-on-frame design, the 2025 RAM 1500 Laramie allows up to six passengers to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime drive.
The 2025 RAM 1500 Rebel crew cab is the first trim to sport a standard 4WD powertrain alongside the same 5-foot 7-inch bed size as the RAM 1500 Laramie. The RAM 1500 Rebel provides the same two engine options as all previous trims with the main difference being its 4WD powertrain.
The 4WD RAM 1500 Limited Longhorn crew cab comes with the same five-foot 7-inch bed size and all the bells and whistles from all previous trims. However, that’s where the comparisons end, as the RAM 1500 Limited Longhorn introduces the third engine with the 3-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged high-output Hurricane engine and its 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque, which allows the Limited Longhorn to tow 10,740 pounds while supporting a payload of 1,370 lbs.
New for 2025 is the 4WD Ram 1500 Tungsten trim. With the same 5-foot 7-inch bed and high-output turbocharged Hurricane engine, the Ram 1500 Tungsten ramps up the luxury and opulence by being the only trim with an all-leather interior. It also sports heated front seats and a high-quality 23-speaker Klipsch® premium audio system in a highly refined interior.
At Glockner of Portsmouth, we’re used to customers getting excited about the RAM 1500. However, this year is different. With new engine configurations, multiple interior upgrades, and a redesigned front, the 2025 RAM 1500 looks to become one of the more popular years for this legendary pickup.
